There was a sort of 'funky' plastic thing, way back.
It may be in my garage, I will look tonight or tomorrow.

I have checked, I do not have the banner. I do have some one-of-a-kind historic publications in the safe deposit box, but I do not believe they should be exposed to the outdoor elements.

All,
I've been told that a SACMARC banner was made for a previous event. Can anyone tell me who currently has custody of it? If you have it, please let me know.
Also, if anyone has any informational displays created for previous events I would appreciate knowing about them as well.

Subject: Call for Volunteers - RE: SACMARC Special Event Station at Offutt AFB Open House, August 16 & 17
George,
Thank you for the introduction and for your support.
Everyone,
What began as a casual idea discussed following the All Communicators Picnic has become a reality. With your help I plan to put K0GRL on the air as a special event station during the two days of the Offutt AFB Air Show. With Field Day having just concluded I don't think there are any "technical" challenges to putting a station on the air. The only challenge is putting a team together.
As George mentioned below, I need lots of help. In particular, I need people to staff the station as operators, loggers and greeters to talk to people about SACMARC and amateur radio. The air show gates will be open 9:00am - 5:00pm. The plan is to have the station on the air from 10:00am to 4:00pm, six hours each on Saturday and Sunday. Depending on the number of people who are available to operate I'd like to setup 'shifts' of 1 - 2 hours for people to take turns operating and/or logging. I wouldn't ask anyone to spend the entire day talking on the radio. We need to have at least three people at the booth at any given time, more would be better.
Ken Lemke (AC0DQ) has volunteered the use of his radio and antenna, but he has to work for the base the day of the air show, so he isn't available to operate. I plan to have a sun shelter setup with tables, radio, antenna, chairs, equipment and refreshments by the time the gate opens. Operators will (hopefully) have a "walk on" role.
For the sake of discussion, let's start with two hour shifts, and we'll lower lower it if we have enough volunteers. Tentatively, the shifts would be 10am - Noon, Noon - 2pm and 2pm - 4:00pm. Amateurs working the Air Show in support of the 55th Medical Group and Sarpy EMA are certain welcome to take breaks at the SACMARC booth and either operate or talk about Ham radio with air show visitors.
All volunteers, please e-mail me (kc0ykn@cox.net <mailto:kc0ykn@cox.net> ) with your preferred day and shift. We need to get a list of people who will be staffing the booth to the air show staff, so I need to know as soon as possible who our volunteers are. If you don't have a General (or higher) license I'm sure we can find a control operator to allow you to operate legally.

At the SACMARC quarterly meeting held Friday, June 20th a proposal was made and approved for SACMARC to setup a special event station to honor the late General Curtis LeMay (by using his amateur radio call sign K0GRL) in conjunction with the Offutt AFB Air Show on August 16th & 17th.
Dennis Mitchell (kc0ykn) has volunteered to lead the project. This is the first event station he has been associated with, so he'll need lots of help. Ken Lemke (ac0dq) has already been in contact with the air show staff and Offutt Public Affairs. Offutt Air Force Base staff have approved this event.
If you can assist Dennis with planning and setup of the station, or more importantly, operating the station during the air show, please e-mail him at kc0ykn@cox.net to give him some encouragement and your support.
Thank you,
George Bellairs, KB0ZZT
