This is a project that I had a small hand in getting off the ground.
    It's a Usenet "newsgroup" called rec.radio.amateur.moderated. Unlike
other unmoderated amateur radio newsgroups, this one actually has
productive and civil discussion about amateur radio. Usenet newsgroups
predate Yahoo Groups, blogs, etc., and provide easily-accessible,
globally-distributed, bulletin-board style, public discussion about
hundreds of different topics, including amateur radio. Unlike mailing
lists, they don't require subscriptions, and don't fill up your Inbox.

For more information about accessing the newsgroups, see the following
    resources:

    For Cox:

    For Qwest:

For other Internet Service Providers, it may be possible just to type
the following URL in your web browser:

    news:rec.radio.amateur.moderated

Newsgroups are also accessible via Google Groups:

    http://groups.google.com

    http://groups.google.com/group/rec.radio.amateur.moderated/topics

General information about rec.radio.amateur.moderated can be found at:

Please feel free to pass this announcement along to any other local
amateur radio club or group mailing lists.

Any other questions may be directed to me at my E-mail address below.
