    Hi all,
I sent out an invitation to a 1st and 2nd quarter SACMARC general membership
meeting for last Friday (one of my rare ones off) using Outlook 2003
calendar function. From feedback I've gotten from another organization and
KB0OUO,the request wasn't handled well at all by the e-mail system. Also, I
made the "sin" of forgetting it was FIELD DAY weekend. However, I got to
talk to KB0QQK whom I haven't seen in a while. Paul, K3FU, reminded me of
the upcoming renewals of K0AIR and K0GRL next year, Feb and May 007
respectively. He would like to find a willing trustee to take over the call
sign K0AIR and I would entertain the request also for K0GRL. As Paul so
eloquently put it: "Rotating trustees like these also emphasizes that the
club licenses are a club resource, and not the extended shadow of one
person. This may be an important point for the FCC when considering whether
we are a legitimate club, or are just "banking" or "hoarding" special
callsigns. We also have a wider choice of Extra-class licensees to choose
from than we did in 1997." So if your highly motivated, have some spare
time, want to bring a fresh perspective to the club and are an extra-class
operator, think about taking on one of these. Take care and 73s till we
    meet again. /Roy n0rg
