Hello fellow members,
Last night we voted in new Officers for 2005 and brain-stormed better
ways to handle the club's business and lower operating costs. It was a
consensus that to save this club from completely falling into an
inactive status, changes must be made.
The Officers for 2005 are:
President: Dick Newsome W0HXL
Vice Pres: Jim Peterson KF0FO
Secretary: Frank Taylor AA0ZP
Treasurer: John Sheffield N4OWG
Property Mgr: George Bellairs KB0ZZT
John and George are the authorized signatures for the club checking
account. All mail for club business including qsl cards, will use John's
home address. This will become the clubs business address.
We will be closing out the PO Box at the post office in March of
2005. It is paid up through March. John and George are the only members
to access the PO Box until it is closed.
We have found checks that were never processed for club membership.
These old checks will be returned to their owners and a free 2005
membership will be given to those individuals. It is significant that
all mail transactions be handled in a timely fashion, especially where
money is involved. George and John will ensure prompt mail processing.
It is imperative that the club business, including the club calls;
K0GRL and K0AIR be maintained by the "active members" of sacmarc. It is
these active members that will bring new life to the club and increase
its membership.
Your new officers will become the managing team of sacmarc. We hope
to rebuild the club, increase attendance, and provide enjoyable
meetings. The Special Event Station's (K0GRL and K0AIR) Veterans Day
Operation was again a huge success. I thank everyone who operated these
stations. The on the air response was overwhelming.
The Quarterly Meetings will now be held at Wendy's in Bellevue, on
the THIRD FRIDAY's of March, June, September, and December.
Remember to be current with your 2005 dues. John will be very happy
to accept all incoming dues for 2005 and beyond.
I wish to thank the officers from 2004 for their support, especially
Andrew KC0BDX, his expertise as club secretary was just excellent.
Please support your club with your membership and this managing team
(your officers) are going to breathe life back into this organization.
