> - Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 20th, 9-5 PM
Just a followup note that we do not yet have any definite plans to cover
these two events. We have about another week before we need to give our
answer (yes or no) to Denny Hahn.
The small scope and time commitment of each event, 6 hours for one and
8 hours for the other, would make either one of them an ideal
opportunity for someone who has a good event idea, and has a reasonable
draft plan for carrying it out. Unlike the QSO Party, neither of these
are ambitious operating contests that span whole weekends and require
one or two HF stations operating continuously in a portable environment.
It could also be a good training experience for anyone interested in
participating in future SACMARC events.
Being able to say "yes" to the SAC Museum for a reasonable amount of
volunteer support would also be a good thing politically, of course.
However, as a group of volunteers, it's certainly all right if we decide
that we don't have the manpower and/or event ideas to cover these two
dates and I have to politely turn Mr. Hahn down.
If anyone in the membership thinks they would like to lead and organize
events for either day given above, please contact me as soon as
possible, preferably by the end of the week.
