I just received a letter in the mail from SAC Museum Director Scott
Hazelrigg. The SAC Museum is agreeable to hosting the QSO Party again
on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2000. As was the case last
year, the SAC Museum is providing access to the facility during their
regular hours of operation for our station and our volunteers at no
charge.
The Event Committee is still recruiting members to help with specific
planning and setup tasks. In particular, the following areas for
improvement have already been identified:
1. informational displays/visual aids
2. greeter training and preparation
3. HF antenna configurations to allow efficient and interference-free
operation of two radios on different bands (with at least one band
being 20 or 40 meters at all times)
Item #1 is being initially addressed by John Sheffield, N4OWG, who will
have some sketches of proposed displays for the March meeting.
Implementation of the other 2 items will be dependent on additional
committee volunteers.
Anyone interested in pursuing #2 or #3, or even another task not yet
identified, please contact me via E-mail.
