Date Set for SACMARC Annual Meeting in December

From: Paul W. Schleck K3FU (pschleck@oasis.novia.net)
Date: Tue Jun 15 1999 - 21:16:11 CDT

At the June meeting tonight, the SACMARC chose Tuesday, December 14th
(2nd Tuesday) as the date for its 1999 Annual Meeting. The members in
attendance also strongly felt that the Sizzler's dinner last year was of
disappointing quality. I personally got a cold steak, and wasn't very
happy with the fact that we were partitioned off (from their
overbooking) into a space in the back party room that we just barely fit
into.

Because of the need to book early, I accepted the assignment, with the
club's authorization, of making reservations. It was suggested that I
look into either the new Golden Corral on Cornhusker, or the Old Country
Buffet on Galvin, both in Bellevue. I will follow up with both, and go
with the one that gives us the best terms (or the one that is available,
if the other is not). Old Country Buffet has proven to be a good choice
for Bellevue and Plattsmouth ARC events, and the Golden Corral is a new
restaurant that seems to be of higher quality than Sizzler's.

If the date was poorly chosen (i.e., there's another local club having
its Annual Meeting that night), or others have other alternative venues
that they feel strongly about, please let me know. If necessary, and as
a last resort, we can always convene a special meeting to reconsider.
