Yes, thanks Vince for passing along the "official" USAF announcement.
This is also a good lead-in for me to again recruit operators for our
effort in the QSO Party mentioned below.

The SACMARC is planning to operate for the 51st Anniversary of the
United States Air Force during a repeat of last year's QSO Party, to be
held this year on the weekend of September 19th and 20th (same weekend
as the Omaha Corporate Cup 10K Race). Due to an editorial oversight,
this was accidentally omitted from the Ham Hum event calendar.

Plans at present (that look pretty much set in stone, barring any last-
minute exigencies or disapproval) are to operate K0AIR at Fred Groce's
(K0FG) place and K0GRL at the Detachment at Elkhorn. The SAC Museum was
pretty well booked up, but we can probably secure a place for next
year's operation with an early reservation. We're pretty much set up
with HF at Fred Groce's place, but I'm sure Elkhorn could use an HF rig
and antennas (setup of antennas a few days earlier would be desirable at
Elkhorn, especially considering that Elkhorn military staff will be
putting up the antennas for security and liability reasons).

If you are interested, please contact Clay Mayrose at WA6LBU@aol.com, or
me at pschleck@novia.net. More information about the AF Anniversary QSO
Party may be obtained from the SACMARC home page:

http://www.novia.net/~pschleck/sacmarc/

We will also be discussing the operation and finalizing plans at our
September meeting on Wednesday, September 16th at the Bank of Bellevue
at 7:30 PM (I'll also have a more detailed announcement with our exact
meeting agenda about a week prior to that).

73, Paul, K3FU
SACMARC President
K0AIR Trustee
