Consistent with our plans last year, I made tentative reservations for
our annual party at the Bellevue Sizzler's on 1702 Harlan Drive for the
third Wednesday in December (December 16, 1998) from 6 pm to close. No
RSVP or individual reservations/orders will be necessary. Simply show
up, order off the menu, and pay an additional $1 service charge. I left
a refundable deposit (in the form of an uncashed check for $20). Based
on a low probability of a large turnout, and flexible accommodations at
Sizzler's (30-45 guests), I feel safe inviting everyone in the local
amateur radio community (and other local contacts who read this mailing
list). A similarly open invitation last year yielded a turnout well
within limits.
These reservations are tentative and breakable, and we can certainly
pursue other plans (if others have immediate and definite suggestions as
to alternatives) at our next meeting in September. I just wanted to get
some reservations set as most places are likely to fill up soon and we
didn't have a chance to discuss this item in June for lack of a quorum.
