Don't forget that an hour before the 7:30 pm BARC Board meeting tonight
(Thursday), at 6:30 pm at the Bank of Bellevue, there will be an
emergency board meeting of the SACMARC. Our agenda is to accept Peggy's
(N0UEA) resignation as Treasurer, conduct any necessary handover of
financial documents, and seek a new candidate for Treasurer to serve out
her term. We're meeting right away to get this done before Peggy leaves
for her new job in Kansas City. All interested parties are invited.
Right now, the Board has three options, in order of preference:
- Find and nominate a new, qualified candidate, other than the current
or former officers, to be Treasurer
- Ask our current Secretary, Ray (N5SEZ) to serve as Secretary/Treasurer
- Suspend financial operations of the club, including freezing our
account from deposits and withdrawals, and suspending the collection of
dues, until a new Treasurer is found
Obviously, I'm hoping one of the first two options will work out, either
tonight, or at one of the next two quarterly meetings.
