Great Meeting

From: Paul W Schleck K3FU (pschleck@oasis.novia.net)

We had small attendance (3 officers, 3 guests), but had a good agenda,
and a likely successful plate of future projects both near (USAF QSO
Party, QSL Cards) and far (SAC Museum).

I'd like to recognize Sid, W0WWH, who has been of great help to the
SACMARC, both in arranging and opening the Bank of Bellevue meeting
room, and in recording the meeting for transcription later (Ray, Sid has
the tape, and I'll help you put the minutes together when you are ready,
so don't worry).

I'd also like to thank all of the officers for their great contributions
and teamwork, and in humoring their somewhat stressed President during
this critical startup period of our organization. I promise my
parliamentary procedure will get more polished as time goes on.

We'll have detailed minutes in the very near future. I will, however,
announce the QSO party particulars now, as that is timely information:

K0GRL

The General LeMay call will be put back on the air at the Elkhorn "USAF
Global HF Network" site (formerly "Giant Talk"). Point-of-contact is
Clay, WA6LBU, who has obtained official clearance for the event (subject
to any unlikely contingencies due to the base exercise, thanks Clay!).
You can reach him at WA6LBU@aol.com or 292-9680. Operation will
commence 0001 UTC this Saturday, which is 1901 local time on Friday (they
intend to start as soon as possible and operate straight through,
probably 24 hours duration). While the operation is in progress, you
can reach Clay at the operations center at 294-7062. Clay says bring
food and drink, as they are likely to be scarce commodities at the site.

K0AIR

The Offutt AFB call will be put on the air for a second time (after its
resurrection under the wing of the B-29 "Fifi" in June) at the home of
N4OWG (Thanks John!). We should have 2 acres, some nice screen tents,
an Icom 706 (and possibly a TS-450 on Sunday), and at least one dipole.
We intend to operate a quiet and more leisurely "regular office hours"
pace starting Saturday morning local time, going home in the evening,
and returning the next morning for a wrap-up (the contest ends at 1900
local time on Sunday). K0GRL participants are welcome to come over to
our station after their operation wraps up. Donations of food and drink
would be welcome here as well.

John, at the meeting we suggested arriving at 9 AM to commence setup
Saturday morning. Would that be agreeable? (John would probably like me
to repeat the suggestion from the BARC picnic that visitors carpool as
much as possible, and try to keep the driveway clear by parking on the
sides).

Both operations should also be monitoring 147.39 or 146.94 for
talk-ins.

73, Paul, K3FU

SACMARC President
