Scott AFB Hams to Possibly Recover K9AIR

Just got an E-mail message from Brian Burke, N0IMD, burkefam@icss.net.
Some of you may remember him as a former Bellevue and Aksarben ARC
member (He asked me to say hi to Sid and Casey for him). He heard about
our successful effort recovering K0AIR, and wants to duplicate it at
Scott AFB, recovering that bases's amateur radio "AIR" callsign (K9AIR,
see the SACMARC WWW Page for a complete list of original licensees).
There are a number of retired and active, military and civil-service
hams at Scott interested in making this happen, according to Brian.

I passed along some summary advice and instructions (I recommended a
combination of quickly filling out and submitting the necessary FCC
forms, but also quickly trying to coordinate with as many people as
possible, including base representatives and members of the local
amateur radio community).

So, it looks like yet another USAF "AIR" callsign may be returning to
the airwaves.

73, Paul, K3FU
