Welcome to the SACMARC Internet Mailing List!

The purpose of the SACMARC mailing list is to serve as an informal
channel of communications for members (as well as other interested
parties) of the Strategic Air Command Memorial Amateur Radio Club
(SACMARC) and its Amateur Radio Stations K0AIR and K0GRL in Bellevue,
Nebraska.

More information about the SACMARC may be obtained from our World-Wide
Web page:

http://www.novia.net/~pschleck/sacmarc/

You may also write us at our U.S. Mail address:

SACMARC, K0AIR/K0GRL
P.O. Box 1292
Bellevue, NE 68005-1292

To subscribe/unsubscribe to this list, send an E-mail message to
sacmarc-request@novia.net and put in the body of the message:

subscribe sacmarc

or

unsubscribe sacmarc

as appropriate. Remember that sacmarc-request is not read by a human.
Rather, messages sent to that address are automatically processed by the
Majordomo server that manages this mailing list. Actual discussion
articles for the mailing list should be sent to sacmarc@novia.net, which
are then relayed to all subscribers (Please note that you must be
subscribed to the mailing list in order to send messages to it. This
constraint on the mailing list, enforced by the Majordomo server, is
intended to protect the mailing list from the increasing amount of
off-topic or "junk" mail that occurs on the Internet).

Messages sent to this mailing list are currently being archived in their
entirety by the list administrator, and may be made publicly available
sometime in the future.

Just about any discussion related to the SACMARC is welcome. However,
to keep this forum useful to all participants, the following basic rules
apply (and probably apply to other mailing lists in general):

- This list is not intended to be a substitute for actual public
business meetings of the SACMARC (which occur on the third Wednesday
of March, June, and September at the Bank of Bellevue at the corner of
Galvin and Harvell Roads at 7:30 PM, with a special annual meeting
each December at a time and place to be announced). The purpose of
this list is to provide an informal channel of communications and
discussion for the members of the SACMARC, particularly to relay
late-breaking news between meetings and coordinate meetings of the
  Executive Board.

- This mailing list is a "limited public forum." What this means is
that unlimited freedom of speech is not necessarily guaranteed. We do
respectfully ask that you stick to the topic of this mailing list, and
express yourself as succinctly as possible. Getting relevant
information across to our members and other interested parties as
efficiently as possible should be the overriding goal. This guidance
should not be interpreted as restricting you from communicating
information the list, just that you should use common sense with
regard to content, length, and frequency.

- This list has many subscribers with subscription and unsubscription
requests being submitted frequently. Please direct those requests to
sacmarc-request, *NOT* sacmarc (which is the message submission
address). While sacmarc is not a big list, this is a good
net-etiquette habit to get into for participating on mailing lists
with much larger audiences. If you have a problem with the mailing
list that cannot be resolved by the -request address, please direct
  them to owner-sacmarc@novia.net.

- As an organization devoted to military communications history, our
organization has many present and former members of the armed forces.
We respect the present or former military rank of each of our members.
However, do keep in mind that it's a time-honored military custom that
the authority of rank does not carry over into non-duty contexts like
  organized sports or clubs.

Thank you for your interest in, and support of, the SACMARC!
