SACMARC Charter Meeting Synopsis

From: Paul W. Schleck K3FU (pschleck@oasis.novia.net)
Date: Wed Jun 25 1997 - 23:14:32 CDT

Our charter meeting occurred at the Bank of Bellevue at 7:30 tonight.
The following is a very brief, informal synopsis of the meeting (actual
minutes will be prepared by the Secretary and published in the near
future).

The successful B-29 operating event, as well as Steve Hunt's
well-received coordination package sent to the CINCSTRAT, were
discussed.

Articles and By-Laws were ratified, with very minor changes, and the
following individuals volunteering to be incorporators:

Paul Schleck, K3FU
John Sheffield, N4OWG
Sid Reade, W0WWH
Bill McCollum, KE0XQ
Bruce Reitan, KB0RZK

The Articles will be submitted to Brian Zdan, KM0Y, for registration
with the Nebraska Secretary of State.

The following officers were unanimously elected:

President: Paul Schleck, K3FU

Vice President: Steve Hunt, KB0MYH

Secretary: Ray McNally, N5SEZ

Treasurer: Peggy Mullaly-Quijas, N0UEA

Property Manager: George Bellairs, KB0ZZT

The following individuals were granted Life Membership, In Honorarium,
in the SACMARC:

- Mrs. Jane LeMay Lodge (daughter of General Curtis E. LeMay)
- General Eugene E. Habiger (current Command-in-Chief, USSTRATCOM, and K6EWP)

John, N4OWG, will look into making both Life and Charter Membership
certificates (all who join in the first year, 1997, will be considered
Charter Members).

The club voted to affiliate with the American Radio Relay League (almost
all SACMARC members were also ARRL members)

The following potential SACMARC projects were discussed, with motions
passed for Paul, K3FU, to gather further information about them in time
for the next meeting (or the proposed date of operation, whichever came
first):

- Operation for the USAF 50th Anniversary QSO Party, possibly using one
or both club calls, possibly from the Elkhorn "Giant Talk" HF
communications site.

- Getting on the new SAC Museum's visiting exhibit schedule, possibly in
early 1998, with an exhibit on amateur radio's relationship and
contributions to SAC and USAF communications.

We had 17 membership applications and about $80 in dues collected.
Peggy, N0UEA, will look into establishing a checking account for the
club at the Bank of Bellevue.
